Australia – 11 Day Countdown

Eleven days. The number eleven has never stood out for me. It’s a number that’s had no big significance in my life before. Today is a little different. I realised I have eleven days until I sit on a plane or two for the longest air travel of my life so far. Australia is far, far, far away. Of course, I know that, considering I picked it when I still thought it appropriate to wear those legging-skirt-trouser combos before I started hitting double digits for my age.

First day of my eleven-day countdown. Why not twelve? Why not fourteen? Because I didn’t think of it four days ago. Now you have an eleven day countdown until I set off. I’m not sure if I fully appreciate the fact I’m moving to Oz for a few years. The plans have been in the making for years. Ever since the skirt-trouser-thing and a big globe. It’s fun. I picked two places on the globe I wanted to live.

Crazy Globe Decisions – Australia

Italy was chosen because it’s shaped like a boot; Italy was accomplished. Australia was chosen because it’s basically the other side of my world and it has taken a lot longer to get around to. That could apply literally.

What does a person do when they have eleven days until moving away from all the comforts and love they know? Well until today, I’ve gone to the doctors’, the dentist, banks and Tribeca Studios (where I work out). I’ve been to all of the aforementioned many times. Hopefully the only place I’ll frequent before leaving is Tribeca. There’s a list of all things I need to do. A list I started of items I thought would be forgotten if I didn’t write them down. Plus there’s a list of all the things I need to do when I get there.

Australia list
I love lists. The feeling you get after ticking something off is great. It gives me a sense of accomplishment. Thankfully my handful of lists have condensed into one. It’s not the kind of list that grows and grows. I even have a list for my travel blog. Then again, I can be spontaneous and not stick to the list. Enough about lists.

Eleven days left in my city and I have a feeling I won’t be doing anything crazy and life-changing in these days. The eleventh day; that may be a life changer.
