Australia – 9 Day Countdown – Serendipity

Serendipity. My day was full of serendipity. Unplanned and spontaneous days amount to so much. Today was relaxing, casual and simple in its pleasures. Claire and I walked around Hyde Park as it was extremely hot (London has its moments) and beautiful. We sat, we ate, we talked. I feel like there’s a pattern of sitting, eating and talking with everyone lately. Oh, we also shopped.

Today stood out because of the walk we found ourselves on. We wanted to take the back ways to Oxford Circus (as a Londoner, I have this built-in impatience for the busy roads). Coming out of the underpass from Hyde Park, there it was; serendipity. High buildings on either side, and the clearest sky I’ve beheld. Endless blue greeted us and joined us as we made our way down the quaint streets of London. Lined with expensive cars and their showrooms, plus dainty British pubs and intriguing stores, the roads were my favourite part of today.

After our random but essential one-shop stop, we went back to Shoreditch, indulged in films, a facemask and nails. It’s the little things. Always the little things, the most basic and essential – being with the right company will make every day stand out.
