Blame It On Them

Blame your city,
You’re a product of it.

Blame your parents,
or lack of.

Blame the teachers that didn’t see potential.
Blame the officer who saw your attitude.
Blame the hand life dealt you for your concern.

Armour yourself with these excuses.
Make sure they ring true.

Blame it on your upbringing,
The people who failed to see it through with you.
Tell them NOW how much you needed them.

How it is their fault.

So when you grow up one day,
You’ll be able to have everyone else to blame for your shortcomings.

Who cares whether it’s your life and your choices,
You were never told your responsibilities.
Why should you have to make those big decisions?
Why you?
Why now?

It’s not like you answer to anyone,
Apart from yourself.
