Welcome to the land of ignorance,
Where we pretend to understand,
Then go back to our screen lives.
If it doesn’t have pixels it’s a waste of time.
If it doesn’t get captured how will you prove it?
Do we all feel we have something to prove?
That we do all these things and enjoy them?
Do we?
Enjoy them. A picture says a thousand words.
So do you understand all the double meanings?
The two second selfie smile,
Before you return to your state of discontent.
When you see what’s happening in this world,
Do you act?
Or do you sit there and talk about the injustice,
before returning to your everyday routine.
What an injustice.
Do you find yourself having a five star holiday,
In what we’ve classed as a third world country?
You’re only alone in your bubble,
A few miles out you’ll see the slums.
You’ve acknowledged that this is happening.
Then you go home to the secure roof over your head.
Sometimes it’s just beyond your control,
So long as you do what you can,
in the best way you can,
That should be okay.
